Hoover Uniform Policy and Dress Code

Uniform Policy*

 

Tops:

  • Solid red, white, or navy blue shirts
  • White shirts must have collar
  • Hoover logos only

Bottoms:

  • Solid navy, blue denim, or khaki

 

Sweatshirts/Jackets

  • Solid red, white, or navy blue only

 

Dress Code

General Rules

  • All clothing must fit properly – Not too small, not too big
  • No offensive or inappropriate text or symbols on clothing or accessories (Profanity, weapons, etc.)
  • No torn or ripped clothing
  • No P.E. uniforms outside of P.E.
  • No jewelry worn out to P.E.
  • No grooming in class – get ready at home (hair, makeup, etc.)

Shirts

  • No stomach or chest showing
  • No jerseys, tank tops, or plain white T-shirts
  • No off the shoulder or spaghetti straps
  • No student writing on shirt

Pants, Shorts, & Skirts

  • Must be at the waist. No sagging
  • No sweats, exercise shorts, or pajama pants of any kind
  • No leggings, joggers, or jeggings
  • Boys’ shorts must be above the knees
  • Girls’ shorts/skirts must be mid-thigh, no shorter than 4 fingers above the knee

Shoes, Hats, etc.

  • No house shoes/slippers or open-toe/open-back shoes
  • Hoods remain down except in rain
  • No hats, bandanas, sweat bands, or wave caps on heads
  • No large chains, spikes, wrist bands, wallet chains, or large belt buckles
  • Inappropriate accessories will be confiscated

 

Enforcement

Students who fail to comply with the uniform policy / dress code will be assigned a lunch detention for each infraction.  Should this become a chronic issue, a parent conference may be scheduled.

Students may be required to change into the school’s loaner clothes.
